We're looking to shift away from Atlassian's Jira, but it seems like every self-hosted alternative out there takes days to configure or lacks key features we need. I'm curious about what options are out there that actually work right out of the box. What are people using for project management that doesn't require a degree in computer science to set up?

You might want to check out YouTrack from JetBrains. I've heard it's pretty user-friendly and has potential. Just waiting for the platform to mature a bit myself.
For simple tracking, I think Miro is fantastic, even though it's not self-hosted. It has a really intuitive interface for organizing tasks visually.
If you're looking for issue tracking tied into projects, GitLab could be really effective. I like how it connects issues with merge requests and milestones, making it easier to keep everything organized.
Redmine is a solid choice! It's open-source and can be tailored to fit various project management needs without too much hassle.
Exactly! Redmine is great for its flexibility and it's free to use, which is a huge plus.
Have you looked into Odoo? It’s an open-source ERP solution that has various modules, including project management, and it's easy to maintain.

Totally agree! GitLab flow is awesome because it starts with issues and the automation is fantastic. You can create branches directly from issues, which keeps the workflow smooth.
