What Cable Should I Use for a Second Monitor Setup?

I'm trying to set up a second monitor, but I'm a bit stuck on which cable to use. My main monitor is currently using the only HDMI port available on my GPU, and I have three DisplayPort connections free. My second monitor only has VGA, DVI, and HDMI inputs. Should I connect the second monitor via HDMI using my motherboard and enable it in the BIOS, or is there an adaptable VGA to DisplayPort cable that will work? I want to ensure I don't compromise my PC's performance or experience any lag. By the way, I'm not interested in DVI options since I've heard that doesn't carry sound. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

You can get a DisplayPort to HDMI cable or adapter that will let you connect your second monitor without any issues. They’re generally inexpensive and work well for dual setups. This way, you won't have to worry about messing with the motherboard settings and can keep everything straightforward on the GPU side.

I've been using one of those cables for years and it's worked flawlessly! No lag either.

That's great to hear! Just to confirm, everything still displays as it should, right?
