What can I do if my Xiaomi Note 11 is water-damaged and fast charging won’t work?

I accidentally dropped my Xiaomi Note 11 in water. After the incident, I left it on a towel outside, and when I checked back, it was really hot. Eventually, the battery drained completely. Now, even though I'm trying to charge it, the fast charging feature isn't working; after 20 minutes it's still only at 10%. What should I do to fix this?

First off, give your phone some time to dry out completely—ideally for a couple of days. If you feel comfortable, you could take it apart for better airflow, or just take it to a repair shop where they can do a thorough cleaning. Water damage can mess with the internal components, and they might be able to salvage it.

I’ll try leaving it to dry for a while and see if it helps.

Definitely! Just don’t rush it. Better safe than sorry.

Honestly, putting your phone in a towel after dropping it in water isn’t the best move. Water can cause serious damage, so get it checked out by professionals who can open it up and clean the inner parts. This could save you from further issues later on.

I guess I need to be more careful next time.

So I just saw your updates. You might want to try using silica gel packs; they're good for drawing moisture out. But be aware—if it keeps draining or having issues after a couple of days, it might need a professional fix.
