What can I do to fix my PC that keeps shutting down?

I've been having a recurring issue with my PC that I built back in 2018. It frequently shuts down on its own every couple of months, and I've noticed that it stays partially on, meaning I see my RAM lights on but nothing shows on the screen and my fans don't light up. The only way I can get it running again is by fiddling with the 24-pin cable. I've tried unplugging and reconnecting it, but that's just a temporary fix. Has anyone else dealt with this issue, and what solutions do you recommend for a long-term fix?

Have you considered whether your PSU or motherboard needs replacing? It's worth checking those components since you've had the same setup for seven years. Also, make sure that the 24-pin connection clicks into place properly—if it doesn’t, you might need to replace that cable or the whole PSU!

I've never replaced those parts. I've also moved a lot, so I don't think it's related to the wiring in my home. About the click you mentioned, I do hear a click when I plug it in, but I'm not sure if that means it's secure.
