What can I do with an Apple Watch SE 2 if I’m an Android user?

I received an Apple Watch SE 2 (GPS model) as a gift from my uncle, but I'm an Android user and don't have an iPhone. I'm in high school and my parents weren't planning to get me a phone until after graduation, but I did get a basic Samsung phone from another uncle recently. Now I'm stuck because I can't even pair the watch or check the time since it won't work with my device. As someone who's never been a fan of Apple products, I'm hoping to find a solution without having to buy an iPhone, iPad, or MacBook. Any suggestions?

Selling it online could be your best bet. Just make sure to do it respectfully since it is a gift, but if you can't use it, it might be the easiest option.

You could talk to your uncle about the situation. Since you can't use the watch, maybe he’d help you get a refund or even exchange it for something that works with your Samsung phone. Otherwise, consider selling it online; there’s always demand for Apple products.

My uncle just left for work two days ago, and I figured out about the compatibility issue only yesterday. I was hoping to exchange it for something like a Galaxy Watch instead.

You should've checked the compatibility before opening it! You might have been able to return it or swap it for something else that works with your Samsung.

I made a mistake there. The guy at the store told my uncle it would pair with Samsung devices, so I didn't think to check.

Honestly, just sell it if it's that frustrating for you. Gifts are great, but if you can't use it, you gotta do what's best for yourself. Don't feel bad about it!

But selling a gift feels kind of disrespectful, doesn't it?

If you’re feeling super frustrated, maybe write down all your options and see which one feels right. I mean, it’s not the end of the world, just frustrating for now.
