What Could Be Wrong with My New Prebuilt Computer?

Hey everyone, I bought a prebuilt CyberPower PC about four months ago. It has an AMD 79700x and a 5060 Ti with 16GB of RAM. Yesterday when I turned it on, it got stuck in the BIOS, and I didn't know how to fix it. I ended up taking it to Geek Squad, and I just got off the phone with them. They told me my GPU is bricked and my SSD is bad. Does anyone have any idea what might have happened? I'm really new to the PC world.

I think your GPU is probably fine since it was able to display the BIOS. The issue could be that your computer doesn’t recognize where the OS is located. You might just need to do a fresh install of Windows. Honestly, tell Geek Squad to stop with the upsell nonsense.

It sounds like CyberPower might have cut corners with some components. It's possible that the tech just identified what’s broken without addressing the underlying issue. My suspicion is that the power supply could be the culprit here. But honestly, without a hands-on examination, it's hard to say for sure. Hopefully, you’re getting any necessary repairs done under warranty!

I’d bet on a cheap power supply causing problems. Since it’s a prebuilt, you should definitely reach out to CyberPower. They’ll likely have you send the whole rig back for repairs.

An 850W power supply should typically be sufficient for your GPU. It might be something else at play here.
