What CPU Should I Choose for My Upgrade?

Hey everyone! I'm finally looking to upgrade my old PC. Right now, I've got an i7 7700k and a 2080ti, along with 32GB of RAM. Unfortunately, my i7 is bottlenecking my performance big time. I've already checked some CPUs that compatible with my current motherboard, but they seem like more of a side-grade than a real upgrade. I'm hoping to find a CPU that would pair well with my 2080ti, and I'm trying to stick to a budget of around 300-400€. I really hope I can avoid having to buy new RAM as well. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

If you have DDR4 RAM, consider getting an i3 12100, which is a bottom socket 1700 CPU. It'll be a decent upgrade because it has the same core and thread count as your i7 but is faster overall. There are also a bunch of AM4 CPUs that could work well with your setup. Depending on what's available in your area, you might even find some AM5 bundles that come with DDR5 RAM around your budget!

Wow, is it really that much of an improvement? I'm definitely going to check those out since I need something smoother until I can upgrade everything!
