I'm new to building a PC and trying to wrap my head around some of the technical stuff. Can someone explain what a "core" is in a CPU? Like, what does it actually do for performance?

A core in a CPU is essentially a processing unit. More cores mean your CPU can handle more tasks simultaneously, which is great for multitasking and running demanding programs. If you're gaming, some titles can take advantage of multiple cores for better performance.
Thanks! But I’m still a bit confused. Do more cores mean better frame rates in games?
