Hey everyone! I'm a front-end developer and I'm really curious about what front-end jobs actually entail. When a company hires front-end developers for their website, what kind of tasks do they handle? Is it just about making the site look nice, or do they have other important responsibilities too?

The role of a front-end developer can really vary depending on the company size. At smaller startups, you might need to juggle multiple tasks, while at bigger companies, you might focus on specific areas like accessibility or performance. It's definitely not just about the visuals!
Front-end developers do way more than just prettying up a site! They convert designs into interactive pages, manage data from APIs, ensure the site works and looks good on all devices, boost performance, and squash bugs that affect user experience. Basically, they handle everything users directly interact with.
That sounds like a lot of responsibility! It's true, though, frontend work can be really challenging, especially with all the limitations we have to deal with.
