What Do I Need to Know About Wireless Charging for My iPhone 12 Pro Max and 13 Pro Max?

I've recently discovered that my iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPhone 13 Pro Max support both Qi and MagSafe wireless charging. I'm a bit confused about a few things, so I hope you can help me out. First, I noticed that neither of my phones seems to be magnetized—they don't stick to metal surfaces at all. Do I need to stick on a magnet for them to work with a charger, or is the magnet integrated into the charging stand or pad?

Also, I've heard that wireless charging setups come in 7.5w and 15w options. Is the 15w option really faster, and is MagSafe worth it, or is Qi charging good enough? Lastly, if it's okay to mention brands, which ones have the best wireless chargers? I'd love to find an all-in-one charger that includes both the stand or pad, a charging cord, and a power brick for under $100.

Definitely check out a brand like Anker or Belkin for reliable wireless chargers. They make various models under $100 that come with everything you need. Look for an all-in-one that offers both the stand and the charging cord. You’ll find some solid options there!

For your iPhone, you don’t need to add a magnet. The iPhone 12 Pro Max and 13 Pro Max already have built-in magnets for MagSafe charging, so just get a MagSafe charger and it’ll line up perfectly. If you're using a standard Qi charger, that's fine too; it just won’t have the magnetic alignment for faster charging.

Thanks for clarifying! So, MagSafe is definitely the way to go if I want the fastest charging option?

As for charging wattage, yes, the 15w is faster compared to the 7.5w. If you want your iPhone to charge quickly, MagSafe is generally better if you're okay with the price. Both Qi and MagSafe chargers are effective, but go for a MagSafe if you want that magnetic convenience.

That’s good to know! Are there good brands you recommend for MagSafe chargers?
