What do you think of my PC build?

Hey everyone, I haven't built a PC since 2019, and I'm a bit lost on the latest components. I've created a build with a link here: [my build list](https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/nBbrXR). It's pretty pricey at over $3K CAD. I'm thinking about swapping out the GPU for something more affordable, like the Sapphire PURE or ASRock Steel Legend, but I'm unsure which would work best. I also considered reducing storage by omitting the 4TB HDD and just using the 1TB Samsung SSD alongside a 2TB WD, or possibly using two 2TB WD drives instead. Lastly, I'm not entirely sure if the case I picked is suitable and whether I should downgrade to a more affordable 850W PSU. I'd really appreciate any advice on how to trim this down to fit my budget! I've made updates to my list as well: [updated list](https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/cvfGDj) and [final list](https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/YvRR6Q) which is still over $3100. Thanks for your help!

You can definitely optimize your build a bit! For starters, RAM faster than 6000MHz doesn't do much for AM5 CPUs, so stick with that speed. Instead of the GPU you’re considering, how about a 5070 Ti? As for the PSU, 1000W might be overkill. You could go for a less expensive 850W and still be covered. If you need a second SSD for games, a cheaper Gen 4 SSD works just fine - the loading times are pretty similar. If you really need the storage, a hard drive isn't a bad idea either, especially for price per GB! Here’s an updated parts list I made: [check it out](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/VMvY74)

That's solid advice! I might switch to the 9070XT as well and reduce RAM speed. Thanks for the tips!

I found a few tweaks to get you under 3K! Check this out: [my optimized build](https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/PbhTRV). The sweet spot for memory speed on AM5 is indeed around 6000MHz CL30. Remember, don’t buy more drives than you need. It's easier to add more later as prices drop. About the case, as long as it fits your hardware and has good airflow, you're good! The case you picked has great airflow and supports up to 360mm radiators. Just double-check those clearances if you plan to add thick radiators.

I appreciate the insight! I’ll look into adjusting my RAM and keeping storage minimal for now.
