I'm working with the Scope Option 121 on my Windows DHCP server and noticed that when I click "Add Route", a checkbox appears for "Use clients assigned IP." I'm curious about what this setting does since checking it greys out the "Network Mask" and "Router" fields. Can anyone clarify its purpose?

Yeah, and if you press that checkbox, the only part you can edit is the "Destination" field. I think it does make things a bit confusing because using the default gateway is kind of automatic whenever the destination is outside its subnet. So, it can seem a bit pointless, especially if you're facing DHCP issues with specific devices needing the option disabled.
It sounds like that checkbox is meant to let the DHCP server automatically use the IP address assigned to the client device for this route, instead of manually entering an IP. If you check it, the server fills in the network mask with "255.255.255.255" and the router field goes blank. If it's unchecked, you can specify the values yourself. It's designed for convenience, but it might not be very helpful for most DHCP scope options.
