What GPU Should I Get for Upgrading My PC?

Hey everyone! I'm looking for some advice on upgrading my GPU. I've been anticipating the release of the 5060, but now that it's out and not great, I'm feeling a bit lost. I want to play the latest AAA games at 60fps on 1080p and maybe try some light ray tracing. Ideally, I need a card with at least 12GB of VRAM for future-proofing.

Here's my current setup:
- CPU: Intel i5-12400
- RAM: 16GB (2x8GB) Ripjaws DDR4 3200
- Mobo: MSI B660M MORTAR DDR4 WIFI
- PSU: Corsair CX450
- GPU: GTX 1060 6GB

What GPU upgrade would be a good fit for my setup without causing a bottleneck or making me go broke? I might need a new PSU too, and I'm also considering upgrading my RAM to 32GB. Should I go for two new 16GB sticks or just grab another two 8GB Ripjaws? Is all this doable within a €500 budget? The market seems really rough with all the focus on AI and subpar gaming GPUs, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

I think the 16GB RX 9060 XT is your best bet. It's nearly as good as the 16GB 5060 Ti and comes at a lower price, around €350, which fits your budget nicely. If you can, definitely snag it! While I would suggest the RX 7800 XT, it’s above your budget at over €500. The 9060 XT is solid for 1080p gaming and fits well with your current build.

I just checked out Gamers Nexus' review on the RX 9060 XT too, and it looks like a robust choice!

If you’re open to used options, the RX 6700 XT or 6800/XT could also be good candidates. They provide decent performance for 1080p without breaking the bank.

With your Intel 12400 CPU, you're good to go with GPUs ranging from the 3060 to the 4070. I'd keep it under the 5060 Ti without getting a full system upgrade. I had a similar setup with my old PC using a 3060 12GB, and it did pretty well at 1080p and some lighter 1440p gaming.

Before jumping into the GPU upgrade, consider getting a better PSU first. I ran a 1070 with a similar setup on a CX450 without any issues, but a more reliable PSU always helps. The 9060 XT around €350-390 is pretty good and matches the 5060 Ti's performance. Just remember that ray tracing might be a bit rough on these cards, so don’t expect stable 60fps with it.

I can grab the 9060 XT for €400, while the 5060 Ti is at €500. Seems like the 9060 XT will be my choice!
