I've been having a serious issue with my Microsoft account since it got hacked. I'm worried they might gain access to my laptop. So, I'm considering deleting the account and unlinking it from my laptop. Can anyone explain what happens when I do this? Also, I tried reaching Microsoft support, but I couldn't get through to anyone.

It's a good idea to create a local admin account first. You can do this through system settings. Also, you can use the NET USE command to enable the local administrator account and set a password. This gives you alternative login options in case unlinking your Microsoft account creates issues.
No need to worry; they shouldn't be able to access your laptop. If you still have access to your account, here are some steps you can take: log out of all devices, change your password, enable two-factor authentication, and double-check your email settings for any unusual redirects.

So if I do that, I can safely delete my Microsoft account without losing my files? Thanks for the help!
