I currently have a $2000 outstanding balance with AWS that I refuse to pay due to a dispute over unexpectedly high charges for database extended support. I usually pay much less—around $900 for production databases—but this time they billed me about $500 for extended support, which is 10 times my usual rate. I've tried to get clarity on my bills through their emails, but they were long and confusing, with no clear warning about costs. They even mentioned auto-upgrading my Aurora serverless database, which I thought was fine since it's managed by them. I've reached out countless times through chat, email, and phone, but the support has been terrible. One agent even hung up on me and later suggested I take legal action against AWS regarding these charges! After all this, I've moved everything to Azure, as AWS has been disappointing.

If you don't pay your AWS bill, they’ll likely close your account, delete your data, and ban you from using their services again. There's also a chance they could pass the debt to a collections agency, depending on where you live.

What happens to my Amazon account if I used the same email with AWS?
