I'm new to Linux and computer science in general. I'm currently running Ubuntu with KDE Plasma on an old ThinkPad with a Celeron CPU and 4GB of RAM. I'm thinking about making the switch to Arch Linux, but I need a lightweight version that will work well on my laptop. Any recommendations?

Arch itself is a solid choice if you're looking to fully customize and learn. While it can have a steep learning curve, it's super rewarding once you get it set up! Just keep in mind, it might take some time.

I agree! I had a blast building my Arch setup. But if you're busy, consider just using Arch with a desktop environment for a smoother experience.

You might want to check out EndeavourOS and select the XFCE desktop environment during installation. It should run pretty smoothly on your ThinkPad!
