I'm thinking about making the switch to Linux since my old PC doesn't support Windows 11. Previously, I had LinuxLite running on my i3 laptop, but with the end of support for Windows 10, I'd like to find a suitable Linux distribution for my i5 2500K PC from 2011. It hasn't been overclocked recently but has gone up to 4.9 before. Should I stick with LinuxLite, or are there better options out there?

Linux Mint is a solid choice! It's well-supported and runs great on older systems. Plus, the community is helpful if you run into any issues.
Upgrading your SSD and RAM is a great first step! The desktop environment can really impact performance, so try to stick with lighter options like XFCE or LXDE. I've also had great experiences with Fedora using XFCE. If aesthetics matter, look into Hyprland, but it can be a bit heavier than the others. Avoid KDE for this setup!
If you're feeling adventurous, Gentoo could be a fun option! Just be prepared for a bit of a learning curve setting it up.
If you're looking for something lightweight, I recommend Linux Mint with the XFCE desktop environment. It's user-friendly and runs smoothly on older hardware.
You might want to consider Lubuntu or Fedora with the LXQT Spin. They're both lightweight and should work well with your setup!

Interesting advice there! I've already upgraded my SSD and have three drives total, two of which are SSDs.
