I've been searching for months to find a Linux distro that works well for gaming but is also suitable for my work needs. So far, I've only come across Linux Mint and Pop!_OS. Does anyone have tips or suggestions for other distros that might fit the bill?

For gaming, I’d recommend: 1. Nobara (best for NVIDIA cards), 2. Cachyos (best for AMD cards), and 3. Bazzite (great for handhelds and home theater PCs). For work, it can be tough—you might need to rely on Linux-friendly tools or consider dual-booting with Windows for programs that don't support Linux.
If you’re into gaming on Linux, definitely check out ProtonDB to see how well your favorite games run. Just keep in mind that some anti-cheat systems might not work perfectly on Linux, although Easy Anti-Cheat and BattlEye have some limited compatibility via Proton. What kind of work do you need the distro for?
Honestly, it depends on what kind of applications you use. I’ve had excellent performance with Bazzite; I’ve tried Fedora, Nobara, Mint, Zorin, and Ubuntu, but Bazzite has been the easiest and most stable for gaming and is my daily driver now.
There isn't really a 'best' distro out there. If Mint or Pop!_OS don't suit you, consider trying something based on Fedora—Bazzite or Nobara are both great choices if you want something that's gamer-friendly right out of the box. On the Arch side, Garuda is solid too; it has great system snapshot handling, which makes it less prone to breaking.
