I've decided to switch to Linux and I'm excited, but I'm still new to this OS. I've got a few specific questions that I can't seem to find straight answers for:
1. I primarily use my PC for gaming, but I also do video editing, photo editing, and some art (using software like Vegas Pro, DaVinci Resolve, GIMP, and VoiceMeeter). Is there a Linux distribution that's particularly good for gaming and these creative tasks?
2. How can I transfer my files (like mods, music, and videos) from Windows to Linux?
3. What's the difference in modding on Linux versus Windows? Can I still use Nexus Mods or mod managers?
Any help or advice from experienced users would be really appreciated!

Transferring files is pretty easy. Linux can read NTFS, so you can either keep your old Windows partition and access it directly or just use an external USB drive. One extra tip: when setting up your Linux system, make sure to have that drive ready to help you move everything over safely.
Modding on Linux can be a bit different primarily due to file locations and the fact that some mods may require executables that aren't directly compatible. That said, many mod managers like r2modman work just fine. You might have to jump through some hoops, but you'll get the hang of it!
For creative work like video and photo editing, I'd go for Linux Mint or Ubuntu—both have user-friendly interfaces and are great for beginners. However, keep in mind that some apps like Vegas Pro aren't available on Linux, but DaVinci Resolve does work with a few limitations. Also, don’t forget GIMP is a solid alternative!
As for gaming, check out gaming-focused distros like Bazzite, but Mint or Ubuntu should serve you well for everyday use.
Yeah, if you're doing serious video editing, definitely check the codec support for DaVinci because it can get tricky. And while GIMP is a great option, it might be different from what you're used to!

Exactly! And don't get discouraged if things don’t work perfectly at first, that's pretty typical with Linux. Most games have communities that can help too!
