I've never used Linux before and I'm considering it primarily for gaming and video editing. I've been a Windows user my entire life, so I'm curious about compatibility issues. Can I still run .exe files, download drivers, and play Steam games? What are some good Linux distributions for someone like me?

Cachyos is a great choice for gaming! A lot of people might caution new users against Arch Linux, but I've had no problems with it. It really performs well for gaming purposes.

Cachy and Pop!_OS are definitely favorites among gamers. Both seem to have a solid reputation for compatibility and performance.

If you're leaning towards Cachyos, you're not alone! Just to clarify, yes, you can run Windows exclusive .exe files using tools like Wine or Proton on Steam. It works pretty well for many games and applications, including drivers.

I think performance is pretty similar across the board with these distros. It’s tough to say one is the absolute best since it really depends on your needs. Just remember, using a Linux distro means you may have to adjust how you handle certain Windows-only programs.
