Hey everyone! I just found an old HP Mini 110 4100 laptop at home, and I want to give Linux a shot since I'm new to it. Here are the specs:
- 1.6 GHz Intel Atom N270 processor
- 1 or 2 GB of DDR3 RAM (not entirely sure)
- Intel GMA 950 integrated graphics

Can anyone recommend a suitable Linux distribution that would work well with this setup?

Here's a handy list of lightweight distros you can try. The idea is to experiment with a few until you find one that's smooth enough. Also, consider using Ventoy to create a bootable USB drive—it makes switching between distros easier!

Why not try Rufus instead? It has a good reputation for creating bootable USB drives!

Given the limited RAM on your laptop, I'd recommend you check out MX Linux or Mint XFCE. They are known for being lightweight and user-friendly, but keep in mind that multitasking or running a browser might still be slow with this hardware.

You don’t need to stick to a specific distro; just pick one that seems to work. Starting with popular options like Ubuntu or Fedora could be great, but consider running older versions that may work better on your old machine. Test a few different ones and see which one feels right!
