Hey everyone! My 8-year-old is super into computers and has made the switch to Linux. He's encouraging me to try it out too, but I'm a bit clueless as a casual computer user who's only used Mac and Windows before. I'd love to get suggestions on a Linux distribution that would be beginner-friendly. On top of that, my kid has specifically told me to avoid Linux Mint, Ubuntu, and Debian, but I have no idea why. If anyone can help me out with some friendly advice on what to try, it would really mean a lot! Thanks a bunch!

I get where you're coming from! If your kid knows enough to tell you which distros to avoid, maybe he can explain why he doesn't like those popular options. Mint, Ubuntu, and Debian are usually solid choices for beginners. What alternatives did he suggest? Maybe it's worth diving into that!
