I'm trying to find a suitable Linux distribution for my Asus Transformer T100TAM. This device only supports 32-bit operating systems, and I've encountered errors while trying to install both Windows 10 and 8.1, which left me with no OS at all, just the BIOS. My primary use will be web browsing, and I have no prior experience with Linux. I also want to ensure that the distro I choose supports Wi-Fi, as I've read that Wi-Fi compatibility can be hit or miss.

You should start by checking the compatibility of your Wi-Fi card to see if it works with Linux. You can find a list of supported drivers here: https://wireless.docs.kernel.org/en/latest/en/users/drivers.html. Since you're working with a 32-bit system, chances are your Wi-Fi card will work fine. Before committing to an installation, consider trying out some live environments to test Wi-Fi, audio, and other functionalities. I recommend MX Linux, which has a 32-bit version and is quite user-friendly. You can install MX-23.6_386 with the Xfce desktop, which is lightweight and should boost performance for your needs. Keep in mind that installing programs on Linux is different; you'll normally use a software manager or the terminal instead of visiting websites.

Just to clarify, it's a 32-bit EFI system with a 64-bit CPU, so that could cause some confusion. I had one of these and ended up getting rid of mine a few months back!
