What Media Player Should I Use on Linux Mint Instead of VLC?

I'm transitioning from using VLC on Windows to Linux Mint, and I'm wondering what media player options are out there. I really enjoy VLC's keyboard shortcuts for syncing subtitles and audio tracks, plus the feature that lets me search and download subtitles online for movies that are missing them. What alternatives should I consider for Linux Mint?

If you're looking for alternatives, MPV is a pretty lightweight player you might like. But honestly, VLC on Linux is still a solid choice!

Why not just stick with VLC? It's available on Linux, and all the keyboard shortcuts are the same so you won't miss a beat!

VLC works perfectly on Linux. In fact, it's the default player on many distributions. If you love it on Windows, you'll have no problem using it on Linux!

I actually use the Flatpak version of VLC on Linux, and it runs super smoothly. Just so you know, you're not missing out by using VLC—it really is that good!

Thanks for the reassurance! I was hesitant because I thought there might be better options.
