What PSU Wattage Should I Get for My i7-14700K and RTX 5070 Build?

I'm putting together my first gaming PC and need some guidance on choosing the right PSU wattage. I've been trying to estimate the power needs using a couple of tools: PCPartPicker suggests around 650W, but the MSI PSU Calculator gives me 800W. This difference has me unsure if an 850W PSU is adequate, or if I should opt for a 1000W model just to have some extra headroom for potential future upgrades. Here are the main components I'm planning to use:
- CPU: Intel Core i7-14700K
- GPU: MSI Vanguard GeForce RTX 5070 SOC (12GB)
- Motherboard: MSI PRO Z790-A MAX WiFi (ATX)
- RAM: TeamGroup T-Force Delta RGB 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5
- Storage: Crucial T500 1TB Gen4 NVMe M.2
- Cooler: MSI MAG CORELIQUID A13 360mm AIO
- Monitor: Samsung Odyssey G8 OLED 27"
I'm not looking to do any manual overclocking currently, but may add a soundbar or more storage later. I'd love your thoughts on whether to go for 850W or 1000W and any recommendations for reliable PSU brands. Thanks!

A 750W PSU would actually be enough for your setup. But since 850W modular units are often around the same price, I'd suggest going for one just to be safe. If you're in the USA, you could check out the Montech Century II 850W or a Vetroo if you find it cheaper.

Thanks for the tip! I'm in India and I'll keep an eye out for an 850W PSU that's at least 80Plus Gold.
