What Settings Can My Gaming PC Handle?

I've got a gaming setup featuring an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X, an RTX 3060 with 12 GB of GDDR6, and 48 GB of DDR4 RAM on an ASUS AM4 TUF x570-plus motherboard. I'm curious if I should upgrade my motherboard or the entire build! I've been trying to find the right settings for newer games, but I'm experiencing significant frame drops and stuttering, especially in Crimson Desert. I also heard that the power supply might impact performance, but I have a 750W power supply—should that be sufficient? Typically, I run games on high settings with DLSS set to performance, but I've read DLSS 4.0 might not work on 30 series cards. I'm aiming for stable 1440p gaming at 165Hz. Is that achievable with my current setup, and if not, what upgrades should I consider for better performance?

Your build should perform decently at 1440p, but the 3060 might struggle under heavy loads. If you haven't already, check that your power supply has the right cables; as long as it’s not a budget brand, 750W should be good. However, for higher settings, look into getting a stronger GPU.

What happens if I’m only getting 40-50 frames with high settings? How can I boost that?

Your RAM running at 2133 MT/s is pretty low for a high-performance build. If you've got mixed RAM kits, that may limit you. Look into manual tuning to maximize your speed, which could help with your overall performance. Also, DLSS 4 should work on your RTX GPU, so that's not an issue. Focus on upgrading your GPU for best results.

That's interesting! I wasn't aware slower RAM could impact my gaming that much. I'll definitely look into tuning it.

It sounds like the RTX 3060 is the weak link in your setup. Even though you have 48GB of RAM, the graphics card may not be able to handle 1440p at high settings effectively. Upgrading to something like an RX 9070 or an RTX 5070 could significantly improve your frame rates.

Is a yellow flag good? Lmao so would upgrading my GPU be the only thing to get my build up to speed?
