What should I do after dropping my AirPod in toilet water?

I dropped my right AirPod 4 into toilet water for about 1 or 2 seconds. Luckily, it wasn't anything messy, but I took it out right away and dried it off a bit with a paper towel. After that, I made sure it was completely dried and cleaned the mesh with a Q-tip. I don't have any alcohol to clean it further, and I read somewhere that I should let it sit for 2 days without using it to avoid damaging the internals. Am I in the clear, or should I worry?

Honestly, it sounds like you might be okay! Your AirPods are IP54 rated, which means they can handle some splashes. Just make sure to let them dry out completely for a couple of days before using them again. It’s good you didn’t soak them too long, and try to keep them powered off while they dry. Don't worry too much about damage unless you see any weird results.

Totally agree! Just be cautious about using them again too early. Better safe than sorry!

As long as it was only a quick dip and not in something else, you’re probably safe! Just let them sit for a day or so. It shouldn’t pose any risk to you if it was a clean drop, but a good sanitation wouldn’t hurt!

No need to panic! The chance of damage is low if it was only a few seconds. Just keep them dry and let them air out for a bit. If anything's wrong down the line, then you'll know. Otherwise, you should be good!

You definitely want to sanitize those after a toilet dive! Isopropyl alcohol works wonders—just be careful not to soak them. Even 70% should be fine for cleaning, but make sure to let them dry out as much as possible. And if you can, let the battery run down completely before charging it again!

Yeah, avoid using them until you’re sure they’re dry and clean. Better to avoid ear infections!
