I recently inserted two Corsair Vengeance DDR-5 CL-40 6000hz RAM sticks that cost me $800 for the pair, and I'm worried that I might have shorted one of them out. I can return these within the next week, but I'm wondering if it would be ethical to send them back to Amazon. Also, is there any chance I can buy just one identical stick to replace it? Lastly, can I run my setup with just one stick since it's 32GB?

Honestly, I've had my share of issues with Corsair RAM too, but usually, it wasn't as serious as shorting out. They often have a good reliability track record, so I wouldn’t jump to conclusions just yet. Plus, they offer a lifetime warranty, so you might be covered there!
Just to address your concerns:
1. Yes, Amazon's 30-day return policy is strict, so if it’s not working, you should be fine returning it.
2. Buying a single stick is possible, but keep in mind memory prices are pretty wild these days.
3. You can definitely run your system with one stick; it may slightly affect performance, but it’s generally manageable.
It sounds like a frustrating situation! First off, how did you figure you shorted it out? Was your system powered on during installation?

It's true! Running one stick shouldn’t be a big deal unless you need the absolute best performance for heavy tasks.
