What should I do with my old Windows 7 laptop?

I'm looking for some creative ideas on how to repurpose my old Windows 7 laptop beyond just using it for typing documents or playing a few games like Chess Titan. How hard would it be to upgrade it to Windows 10 or 11? And if I decided to sell it as it is for parts, what kind of price could I expect?

Installing Windows 10 or 11 isn't too complicated. To make it smoother, consider upgrading the RAM and swapping in an SSD. Use Rufus with a Windows 11 ISO on a USB drive, and don't forget to bypass the TPM/Secure boot checks. Also, remember to switch the BIOS from Legacy (CSM) to UEFI if you're starting fresh!

Before you decide, what are the specs of your laptop? It can really influence what you might want to do with it!

Why not install Linux? It'll breathe new life into that old machine. An SSD upgrade and maxing out the RAM can really help speed things up too.

Just for kicks, you could balance an aluminum can on the trackpad and trigger the 3D flip view! But seriously, have you tried anything like that?

You could turn it into an emulator machine! It can run a variety of classic games without breaking a sweat, making it a great second life for your laptop.
