What should I do with the wrong type of RAM?

I recently bought two sticks of 32GB DDR5 RAM with the intention of upgrading a PC. However, I've just realized that the motherboard only supports DDR4 RAM. Since it's been over 30 days since I purchased the RAM, I can't return it to the seller. What are my options for solving this issue?

Honestly, you've got two solid options: sell the DDR5 and switch to DDR4, or upgrade your whole setup. If you bought the RAM at a decent price, selling for profit might be your best bet. Good luck!

Selling the PC sounds like an option too, but make sure you weigh everything. If you think you coud get good money for the RAM, maybe just go that route instead!

You can either sell the DDR5 RAM and buy DDR4, or you could see about getting a new motherboard that supports DDR5. If you go for the new motherboard, you'll probably need to change the CPU too, so keep that in mind!

That sounds like a hassle! Might be easier to just sell the RAM and get the right one for your motherboard.

Yeah, unless you really want to upgrade the whole system, selling the RAM is probably the safest bet.

Consider listing it locally. You might actually get more than you paid for it, especially if it’s in mint condition!

If you got a decent deal on the RAM, selling it for profit could be a smart move. Otherwise, just sell off your old motherboard if you change that out too. If you’re strapped for cash, do what feels best for you!
