What should I upgrade first for gaming?

I'm looking to upgrade my PC since I'm eager to play the new Battlefield game coming out. I heard it requires TPM 2.0, but I've found out that my current setup might not support it. My system is around five years old, so I was expecting I'd need some updates soon. Here's my current build:

- Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6 core
- GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7600
- Motherboard: B550 Phantom Gaming 4
- RAM: 2 Corsair 8GB sticks

Could someone give me tips on what to upgrade first? I want to keep the costs down as much as possible. Thanks a lot for your help!

Your system should actually support TPM; you might just need to enable it in your BIOS settings. For Battlefield 6, make sure secure boot is on since that requires TPM and UEFI. It might also be worth updating your BIOS. The Ryzen 5 3600 could potentially bottleneck your RX 7600 with modern games, but it could be fine to test before you spend any money on upgrades.

Thanks for the tips! Could you provide a link or some steps to enable TPM? I'm relatively new to building PCs and would appreciate any guidance.

If you're looking for a more budget-friendly upgrade, consider getting a B650 motherboard with a cheap AM5 CPU (bonus if it comes with a cooler), plus DDR5 RAM. You can keep the rest of your build as is. Later on, you can upgrade your GPU. For instance, a 7600X CPU without a cooler, a B650 motherboard, and 32GB of 6000MTs CL30 RAM could cost around $450. Just keep in mind that depending on your case size, you'll want to choose the motherboard accordingly.

I checked the Battlefield 6 requirements, and your setup seems to exceed the minimum specs, so you might be good. But if you're hitting a wall with secure boot, following that guide to update the BIOS should help you out.

That’s what I thought too! I’m just stuck on getting the secure boot enabled right now. Thankfully, I got some steps from earlier comments to help me update the BIOS.
