What to do if my new phone didn’t come with a SIM card tool?

I just received my new phone from UPS and was super excited to set it up by changing my SIM card. However, I was disappointed to find out that there was no SIM card tool included in the box. Is there anything at home I can use to open the SIM tray, or can I buy one of those tools somewhere? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Just a heads up, make sure your phone actually has a SIM card slot. Some new iPhones are eSIM only and don't need a physical SIM card!

Don’t worry, it’s a Motorola and I'm sure there’s a spot for a SIM.

You can definitely use a small paper clip to pop open the SIM tray! It’s worked for me in the past. Just straighten one end, and it should do the trick. No fancy tools needed!

That’s a clever idea, but my paper clips are too thick to fit.

Do you still have the removal tool from an old phone? I’ve held onto mine from the last few devices I've owned. It could be hiding in a drawer somewhere!

I keep those tools for emergencies, like resetting my gadgets.

I wish I was that organized! My old tools are long gone.
