What to Do If You Receive an Empty iPhone Box from Apple?

I ordered an iPhone 16 along with a watch as a Mother's Day gift from Apple, but I received an empty box from UPS instead. To make matters worse, the watch was delivered to the wrong address by FedEx. I've done some research and found this seems to be a common issue. I'm trying to figure out how to get Apple to take some responsibility for this situation—shouldn't they have insurance against lost packages? I've always trusted Apple for my tech purchases, so this is really disappointing. I've reached out to PayPal, but they sided with Apple since the tracking shows it was delivered, even though the delivery photo is from a different location. What steps should I take next? I thought of buying a second phone because I hoped Apple would resolve the issue, but their support just seems to send generic replies without real help. What can I do?

It’s unfortunate that this happens, but Apple’s customer service can be hit or miss. If you're saying this is a 'common' problem, I’d suggest pushing for substantial evidence like a report from UPS or FedEx. If Apple isn’t cooperating, contact your credit card company again; they might be able to help you dispute the charge if they see enough evidence of your claims. Good luck!

Yeah, it's tough to rely on shipping companies these days. Get everything documented; it helps! Don't give up!

I've seen similar issues before! When I returned a defective watch, Apple claimed I sent them an empty box, which was super frustrating. I documented everything—pictures, tracking info, even contacted their upper management. You might want to push for the same level of proof and escalate the issue directly with Apple's customer service. It took me a while, but I eventually got my credit back after being persistent. Seriously, keep your receipts and evidence!

I get the frustration. It's wild how much hassle you have to go through for something that should be simple. Keep fighting the good fight!

First off, have you tried contacting Apple through their main support channels instead of going through PayPal? That might help. Also, consider reaching out to Apple higher-ups via email if you haven't—escalate your issue. Be sure to gather any proof of your claims, like receipts or photos of the empty box. There's a chance they'll take you more seriously if you show them you're persistent!

Good advice! I’ve had luck emailing executives in the past. They usually act quickly to resolve serious issues.

Emailing higher-ups is actually a great idea. Apple has a higher escalation route and they can resolve things much faster. Just keep on it! They can disable the device remotely to prevent unauthorized use by whoever has it. Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll definitely try that route.
