I've got an upcoming interview for a Senior DevOps position at Oracle, and I was told it would involve a HackerRank-style assessment. I'm curious about what types of questions I might face. Should I be preparing for LeetCode-style data structures and algorithms problems, or is there something else I should focus on instead? I would really appreciate any insights from those who have gone through a similar experience.

I worked as a DevOps engineer at Oracle for four years, and honestly, the interview was pretty straightforward. However, be ready for the actual job to be a bit of a challenge. The change process they have in place can be quite cumbersome, which was tough for me during my time there.
From what I've seen, the interview process could bring up various topics. While it's possible you'll encounter some licensing and sales questions, don't rely solely on that. It can vary widely based on the team and the role. Expect a mixture of practical skills and maybe even some scripting or Linux tasks. Just be prepared for anything!
Yeah, it really depends on the team. I've had interviews where I was grilled on scripting and others that felt more like theoretical discussions.
You might also want to brush up on YAML syntax just in case. Some interviews ask candidates to demonstrate their skills in writing configuration files or similar tasks.
If you have time, definitely reach out to your recruiter for clarification on what to prepare for. In my experience, HackerRank tests can cover a range of topics from scripting to medium/hard coding challenges, so prepare for both ends of the spectrum!

That sounds rough. I’ve heard a lot about the internal processes being tedious. I guess it’s important to keep that in mind!
