I'm about to start my freelance journey and, to be honest, I'm feeling a bit nervous. I'm looking to master 2-3 specific types of projects so I can work quickly and confidently. I have experience with React, FastApi/Django, and SQL, but I'm unsure what clients typically need the most. Are landing pages, e-commerce sites, or internal tools in higher demand? Additionally, I'm curious about how to promise a 24-hour turnaround without compromising on quality. Any tips? Thanks in advance!

From a client's viewpoint, if I see multiple offers where most are 4 to 5 days and one is just 1 day, I would likely disregard the 1-day option because it raises red flags about the quality and understanding of the project requirements.
Familiarity with Shopify is a must for e-commerce gigs. While WordPress might still be worth a glance, my clients haven't asked for WP sites in ages. Focus on the areas AI can't handle yet; things related to education and medical info need strict compliance with privacy laws, which gives you an edge in that market.
I suggest not promising quick turnarounds like a next-day delivery. You might end up pushing out a product that needs more testing and refinement. Take your time; it really pays off in the end. There's a huge risk of delivering a buggy final product if you rush it. Just give yourself a buffer for testing after your initial development.
E-commerce sites and SaaS dashboards are definitely in demand. My advice is to focus deeply on one technology stack rather than trying to master everything at once.
If you're looking for steady work, learning WordPress or Drupal could help you generate recurring revenue through web maintenance, plus it keeps clients happy. However, if you prefer fewer, more complex projects, stick with React and FastApi/Django instead.
Is WordPress still a relevant choice for new projects?
Landing pages are a great entry point! Many small businesses just want something simple and fast, which you can easily create once you build a template. Plus, they usually need a contact form to get started.

WordPress used to be my go-to for newer developers, but I haven’t seen a request for it in at least two years. Is it losing popularity because of AI or has the market just moved on?
