I'm trying to improve my FPS for gaming. Here's my current setup:
- Ryzen 5 3600
- EVGA 3070ti
- 16 GB of RAM
- 2K monitor at 144Hz
- B450 motherboard
I want to know what I can upgrade to enhance my FPS without changing my motherboard. I'm aware I'm limited to the Ryzen 5000 series. Any suggestions?

You should definitely consider upgrading to a Ryzen 5800X or even an overclocked 5800XT if you can find one. That will give you a solid FPS boost and should tide you over until the next generation of GPUs come out. Plus, I recently saw them at Microcenter for around $150, which seems pretty decent!
You really need to upgrade to a Ryzen 5000 series CPU for better performance. The 5700X would work great, but if you can swing it, the X3D version is ideal. Upgrading your CPU could give you a huge FPS boost, maybe even 20% more if you match it well with your GPU. Also, what's the speed of your RAM? That could help too!
My RAM is 3200 MHz with C16 timings. Also, there’s a $50 difference between the 5600X and the 5800XT—is it worth going for the 5800XT?

Thanks! That sounds promising! I’ll keep an eye out for the 5800XT.
