Hey everyone! I'm a web developer facing some major challenges in selling my services this year. I think I'm coming up with offerings that address client needs, but I'm really struggling to make any sales. It feels frustrating not even getting the chance to show my value. I'd love to hear from those of you who are successfully landing clients in 2025—what strategies are you using? Are there specific projects or technologies that are in demand right now? What types of pitches seem to resonate with clients? Any tips on what clients are looking for and how to sell web dev services effectively would be super helpful. Thanks in advance!

From my freelancing experience, clients don't usually care much about the tech stack, as long as it works and is easy to maintain. The real challenge is finding clients who need custom software and are willing to invest—many tend to lean towards cheaper options like WordPress, which makes it tough for developers like us to compete.
I also find myself promoting a lot but not converting into customers. Clients expect web development to cost next to nothing! It used to be easier to get clients before 2020. If you find any effective strategies, let me know!
I run a small local web design agency, and I've found success using a tool that evaluates businesses' websites. We reach out to those with outdated or non-mobile-friendly sites and offer them a free review. Then we set up meetings to discuss how we can improve their sites. This approach has worked really well for me!
That sounds interesting! Could you share the name of that platform you use?
I completely relate! It’s a frustrating cycle of needing more experience to build a portfolio, but that makes it harder to close clients.
