What’s Next After Learning HTML, CSS, and JavaScript?

Hey everyone! I'm diving into full-stack development and I'm currently taking a course that covers frontend technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The next step in the course is to move into backend development with Node.js. However, I've seen a lot of people suggesting learning React after mastering JavaScript. I'm a bit confused about the right path to take. Should I stick with my current course and jump into Node.js first, or change course and focus on React instead? I'd really appreciate any recommendations or guidance on how to approach this! Thanks so much!

Honestly, the order doesn’t matter too much. What’s more important is to have a solid grasp of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. It might be beneficial to do some hands-on projects after those basics. I started learning React only after I felt confident with the fundamentals.

I’ve created a to-do app and a Spotify clone (even if it doesn’t look like Spotify). Do you think that’s a good start?

If you haven't checked it out yet, the Odin Project is a fantastic resource for learning web development. Their learning path is structured really well!

I went through the Odin Project too, and it was way better than just watching long video tutorials. It really helped me solidify my knowledge!

I looked at the Odin course and it seems to have a lot of documentation. Is it super text-heavy?

You have a couple of options! You can either focus on frontend frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue, or dive into backend with Node.js. It's totally fine to learn either first; just pick one and get comfortable with it.

So should I start with React or jump into Node first for a more balanced skill set?
