I've recently built my first PC and I'm wondering if there's anything holding it back from running better. I have basic knowledge about PC building, mainly focusing on buying parts that fit and assembling them. Here are my specs:
- Motherboard: Gigabyte X670 Aorus Elite
- CPU: Ryzen 7 7700X (8-core)
- RAM: Fury 2x16GB (around 5600MHz, but I lost the box)
- GPU: Geforce Aero RTX 5080 (16GB)
- PSU: Supernova 1300W
- Monitor: MSI 2560x1440 (165Hz)
I run Windows 10 on a Samsung 2TB M.2, with an additional M.2 for popular games, plus another 10TB of Samsung SSDs. The CPU is cooled with a 3-fan radiator. I feel like my PC could do better, but maybe I'm just being too critical. Any suggestions on improvements?

What do you mean by 'it should be running better'? Have you checked YouTube for performance comparisons of the RTX 5080 at 1440p in your games? Sometimes there's a frame rate cap to consider. By the way, make sure your EXPO settings are enabled for optimal RAM performance!
Honestly, it sounds like your build is solid and shouldn't be held back. You might want to stress test your CPU, GPU, and RAM with some benchmarking software to see how they compare to similar setups. If your scores are on par with others, you're likely good to go!
You're running a great setup! It really depends on what you're doing with it. When you're feeling like it's lagging, check Task Manager to see what's maxing out. If your GPU is at 100%, that's the bottleneck; if not, then it could be your CPU.

What exactly is EXPO? I think I might need to look at some benchmarks to see how I stack up.
