What’s the Actual TDP of My GPU?

I'm currently stress testing my NVIDIA 4060 GPU and noticed two different power draws reported by GPU-Z: 110W for board power draw and 83W for GPU chip power draw. I'm a bit confused about which of these values actually represents the TDP (Thermal Design Power) of my GPU. Can anyone clarify?

The TDP of your GPU is typically around 115W. While GPU-Z gives you good information, you might find MSI Afterburner helpful for monitoring real-time usage and wattage. Just keep an eye on it during your tests!

I’ve noticed Afterburner shows around 80-90W when I’m gaming. Is that normal?

TDP is more of a guideline about the heat generated and not a fixed power limit. It's understandable to want to categorize your GPU, especially since laptop GPUs can come with varying power limits.

Laptops can handle power differently. To ensure you're getting the best performance, check that you're using a high-performance power plan and that your laptop is plugged in. Running on battery or power-saving modes can limit the power draw.
