What’s the Best All-in-One IT Management Tool for Asset Tracking, MDM, and SSO?

We're currently juggling a variety of tools for managing devices, single sign-on (SSO), and tracking assets. As our company expands, this approach is becoming increasingly complicated. Our IT manager wants to streamline everything because we've encountered issues like not reclaiming assets post-offboarding and users retaining access to applications longer than necessary.

With around 478 employees scattered across three locations and approximately 500-600 laptops along with phones and other peripherals to keep track of, our IT team of 5 is looking for a solution that doesn't require extensive custom setups or scripting.

We're in search of a platform that can integrate MDM, asset management, and SSO seamlessly, or at least work well with our existing tools. Right now, we're considering Allwhere, Workwize, NinjaOne, and Kandji, but I'm interested in hearing what others are using in similar situations, and if it has actually helped lighten your manual workload.

This whole query reads a bit like a sales pitch for a product, especially since you haven't mentioned any of the tools you're currently using. Just be cautious when exploring options!

Intune and Kandji are solid options to consider. Just a heads-up, though—I've heard Workwize isn't the best for scaling up when your operation grows.

For automating asset and software discovery, check out Harmony.io. They offer integrations along with a helpdesk and chat bot for Slack, which could streamline your processes quite a bit.

I'd definitely recommend Workwize. After wrestling with various tools, we transitioned to Workwize, which integrates seamlessly with Kandji, Okta, and our HR systems. It manages the entire asset lifecycle, from ordering to retrieval, so you won’t end up in the mad rush of chasing devices or updating spreadsheets manually. The setup was quick, and it’s particularly effective for distributed teams, allowing smooth syncing between IT and HR without adding extra overhead. Plus, their self-service portal for device selection by employees has saved us close to $100k in just ten months!

A lot of companies opt for Microsoft solutions for this sort of integration. While Microsoft doesn't offer a complete asset management or CMDB solution, they have pretty solid tools overall. Alternatively, look into Zoho or ManageEngine; they provide a comprehensive suite that typically integrates well, too.
