I'm planning to build a new PC focused on gaming, especially FPS games like Valorant and CS2, as well as 3D work using software like Fusion 360 and SolidWorks. I'm aiming for a CPU around $450 that can keep up with these needs. I'll be using a 1440p 240Hz monitor paired with an RTX 5060 Ti, and I'm open to suggestions for other GPUs that would work well with my chosen CPU.

Keep in mind that for 3D work, a lot of the processing is done by the GPU. The 9800X3D should perform well according to benchmarks for SolidWorks, but don't forget to factor a solid GPU for optimal performance.
For your needs, the 9800X3D is highly recommended. It's great for gaming and handles Fusion 360 and SolidWorks quite well, though it’s a slight stretch over your budget. If you want to stick strictly to $450, the 7800X3D could be a good alternative, especially if you invest a bit more into the GPU. You might also want to consider going with a more powerful GPU like the 5070 or 9070, which would really enhance your gaming experience. Are you building a new rig from scratch or just upgrading?

I'm selling my current setup (RTX 2070 Super, R7 3800X) and building a new one. I know the 7800X3D is good for gaming, but how does it hold up for Fusion 360 and SolidWorks?
