Hey everyone! I'm currently using Windows 11 on my MSI GF63 12VE laptop, and it's giving me around 3 hours of battery life. I'm looking for a Linux distro that could help me extend that to 5 hours or more when I'm web browsing and watching Netflix. Any recommendations?

Actually, Linux might use slightly more battery than Windows, potentially giving you around 1 to 1.5 hours of online use. So, if you're aiming for better battery life, you might want to reconsider your options overall.

So, should I dual boot with Chrome OS Flex instead? Will that be better for battery?

Wait, really? That's surprising!

While switching to Linux might not magically improve your battery life—especially if your battery is degraded—it's worth a shot to try out different distros! I'd recommend going for lighter desktop environments like Xfce, MATE, or LXQt, as they tend to consume less power. Just experiment and see what works best for you!

Check out the distro selection page on the wiki for more tailored recommendations! It's a great resource for finding what might work best for your setup. And as always, make sure to take regular backups and try things out safely before diving in!
