Hey everyone! I switched to Linux about a week ago after some guidance, and I decided to try Fedora Workstation since it was recommended. However, I'm not really digging the overall vibe; it feels a bit like an outdated tablet. I tried to customize it with Caelistia Dots, but ran into errors during installation. After discussing with an AI, I was informed that this theme might work better on Arch-based distros instead. I'm looking for expert suggestions on a distro that balances development tools with customization options. Any recommendations? Thanks!

Fedora can be a bit on the unstable side sometimes. If you’re looking for serious stability, systems like Debian or SUSE are solid options. Debian has loads of tested apps, although it might lag behind on the latest features.
You might want to check out the distro selection page for more insights, and remember to take regular backups and experiment in a VM when trying out new distros. Happy exploring!
If you're not a fan of the GNOME interface on Fedora, consider using a Fedora spin with KDE. It can provide a completely different experience while still being quite stable and user-friendly.
That sounds intriguing! Is a Fedora spin like a tool to easily switch the desktop environment?
From my experience, Fedora with KDE has been really nice and stable. It’s worth a try if you're open to switching. Just check if you need to reinstall or if you can switch environments easily.
Is switching from Workstation to KDE a straightforward process? Or will it involve a full reinstall?

I always thought Fedora was the gold standard for stability! Guess I need to rethink that. Appreciate the info!
