Hey everyone! I'm considering jumping back into Linux after several years. I previously used Ubuntu, but now I'm thinking about setting up a dual boot with my less-than-stellar Windows 11. I want to find a reliable distro that excels in gaming across multiple platforms like Steam, Epic, and GOG. I have a 3080ti, so I'm looking for something that really supports that, especially with multi-screen setups and high refresh rates. I'm comfortable with the terminal and tinkering, but I don't want a distro that's prone to breaking and eating up my time. Right now, I'm torn between Nobara and Cachyos. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Nobara is a solid choice! I know a couple of people who switched from Windows to Nobara, and they've both been really happy with it. It's pretty user-friendly and tailored for gamers.
You could also check out Solus OS. It's designed for ease of use and has decent support for gaming.
If you’re open to Arch-based distros, you might want to consider Cachyos. I’ve been using it for a while without major issues, but I recommend setting up Timeshift or using Btrfs snapshots for safety—just in case an update goes wrong. Overall, it’s pretty reliable, despite some rumors about Arch being unstable.
Good idea! I haven’t tried Cachyos yet, but I love Arch. Definitely looking into the snapshot thing.

Yeah, I’ve heard great things about Nobara too. It seems to have good support for all the gaming platforms.
