Hey everyone! I'm completely new to Linux and not very tech-savvy, so bear with me. I'm looking for recommendations on the best Linux distro focused on gaming, but I also need to do some school work. I've heard of Bazzite, but is it friendly for beginners? I'm considering dual booting as well. Is Bazzite just for gaming, or can it handle general tasks too? I primarily play on platforms like Steam, GOG, and use emulators on Windows 11. Discord is a big part of my routine as well. I'm also confused about whether games run better on Linux versus Windows—does it depend on the specific game? I'd really appreciate your thoughts! Here are my specs just in case:

- GPU: Nvidia 3060ti
- CPU: Intel I7 11700k
- RAM: 16GB

P.S. I also have some games on Epic.

If you're looking for stability and ease of use, Bazzite is a solid choice for beginners and should work well for school and gaming. Alternatively, CachyOS is great if you want the latest updates. For your setup, both should serve you well. Just remember, Linux isn't as gaming-friendly as Windows due to industry support, but many games run just fine!

Instead of jumping right into a full Linux experience, you might want to dual boot Windows 11 with something like SteamOS for better gaming. The industry is still warming up to Linux, so it's hit or miss on game performance, but overall, it's improving. SteamOS should help with compatibility for most titles. Just be prepared for some learning along the way!

Yeah, but keep in mind that SteamOS sometimes struggles with Nvidia GPUs, so that might not be the best option.
