Hey everyone! I'm new to Linux and I'm considering switching from Windows. I play a lot of games, mainly on Steam and I also use SteamVR with my Meta Quest Link. Can you recommend a Linux distro that's easy to use and doesn't require endless troubleshooting? Here are my specs: Intel Core Ultra 7 265K, 32 GB RAM, and NVIDIA RTX 5070. Thanks in advance!

Considering your specs, I’d recommend Ubuntu or Mint. Both are very user-friendly for gamers switching from Windows. Ubuntu lets you choose your NVIDIA driver version, while Mint installs the right one for you. Make sure to enable Proton in Steam to play your games smoothly!
If you’re just looking for something that works out of the box without complications, definitely check out Linux Mint or Bazzite. They’re not the latest in terms of features but they are super stable and require little maintenance. Just remember that many distros can handle gaming just fine with a bit of configuration!
For the best performance with minimal fuss, you might want to try Nobara or Fedora. They both come with NVIDIA drivers and offer a fairly straightforward setup. Nobara, in particular, is made for gamers and is quite user-friendly.
Bazzite is probably the easiest option for you. It's loaded with NVIDIA drivers and comes with all the gaming apps pre-installed. It's designed to just work without requiring much tweaking!
If you want a solid option, Garuda is fantastic, especially for gaming. I’ve been using Garuda on my main desktop and I absolutely love it.
Totally agree! Garuda is amazing for gaming setups.

CachyOS could be another great choice if you're up for a bit of tinkering. One of the main developers for Proton works on CachyOS, and it tends to perform really well in games compared to Bazzite. But if you want something truly hassle-free, stick with Bazzite.
