I'm looking for recommendations on which Linux distribution to use for my 4th generation X1 Yoga. I have 16GB of RAM and an i7 processor. My main tasks will be editing raw files and organizing them on my NAS, working on spreadsheets, managing the NAS, and using the laptop as a tablet with the built-in stylus. What Linux flavor would suit my needs best?

You really can't go wrong with any distro. A fun approach would be to list your top 6 choices and just roll some dice to pick one! But if you want something more structured, focus on the support and update schedules. I'd recommend Ubuntu LTS for stability, as it gets updated every 2 years and has long-term support. If you prefer something that updates more often, Fedora might be your best bet. Both are capable of handling all your tasks very well.
There's really no perfect distro for every hardware setup; it’s more about finding the one that matches your requirements. How comfortable are you with the terminal? How much time do you want to spend maintaining your system? Consider how stable you need it to be and whether you're okay with regular updates. Let us know a bit more about your level of expertise!
Consider trying Arch Linux with the Plasma desktop. It's quite customizable, but keep in mind it requires a bit more setup. Fedora with KDE is also a solid choice if you’re looking for something that balances ease of use with customization.
Fedora or Mint could be great options for you! They both work well with various applications, including spreadsheets. You might want to check out OnlyOffice—that's a good choice for working on spreadsheets on both Windows and Linux.
I’m comfortable with the terminal from my Proxmox days. I'd prefer something reliable since I have a family with young kids and don’t have time to tinker too much. I want a distro that just works and doesn’t break often.
