I'm considering switching to a Linux operating system to better protect my privacy, but I want to make sure I can still edit photos and videos effectively. What Linux distribution would you recommend for creative tasks, and what editing software do you all use on Linux?

Honestly, the distribution you choose isn’t a huge deal; just go with something you like from the mainstream options. For photo editing, check out tools like Digikam for managing your pictures, GIMP and Krita for image manipulation, and Darktable for a virtual darkroom experience. When it comes to videos, you can't go wrong with Kdenlive or DaVinci Resolve for editing. And remember, a lot of video editing software relies on FFmpeg under the hood, so knowing some command line basics can be handy!
