What’s the Best Monitor for Work? Looking for Recommendations!

I currently have two 27" monitors at work, but to be honest, I only really use the second one for my terminal. It feels uncomfortable to keep turning my head all the time, so I'm looking to switch things up. I have a budget of about €700 and I'm based in the Netherlands. At home, I really enjoy my LG 34WK95U (34", 5k2k), but it's a bit pricey and I doubt it's even available anymore. Ideally, I'd like a 32" or 34" 4K monitor with a refresh rate higher than 60Hz if possible. I'd appreciate any recommendations you might have!

If you’re accustomed to an ultrawide at home, stick with that for work too! You can keep your editor and browser side by side, which avoids the neck strain of dual setups. If you want quality and size over refresh rate, consider the Samsung ViewFinity S8 for that sweet 4K at 60Hz in a 32" size, though it might push your budget a bit. Just keep in mind that an ultrawide will simplify your workspace significantly with virtual desktops!

I'm currently using a 50" Sony BZ30 digital signage panel as my monitor. It’s like having four 1920x1080 windows, resembling a 2x2 setup that I can resize anytime—it works beautifully for my needs!

I've been using two Samsung 32 Inch ViewFinity UJ590 monitors for about four years now and they're fantastic. I honestly can't go back to standard monitors anymore—really happy with my setup!

I've been in the same boat with dual monitors, and after trying both a 34" ultrawide and a 32" 4K, I preferred the 32". You get more usable vertical space and don't have to crank your neck as much. I'd recommend the Dell P3225QE—it's got a great IPS panel, decent brightness, and it handles up to 100Hz. It also has fantastic features like 90W power delivery and 1Gb Ethernet through a single USB-C connection. While the business price is around €400, it might be steeper for retail, so consider looking for alternatives if that’s an issue.

That one looks good, thanks for the recommendation! I'm not too worried about the price since my budget covers it! 😀

Why not just go ultrawide? You won’t need those two monitors anymore. An ultrawide gives you fantastic screen space without the neck strain. I suggest looking into the Dell U3423WE or the LG 34WP85C-B. Both are solid 34" models with good color accuracy and USB-C. They run around 60Hz, but for coding, screen space is way more crucial than extra refresh rates. You may end up not needing a second monitor at all with an ultrawide!
